Nearing the End of 2009

Year 2009 almost come to an end and by now Faris can scribble on paper/drawing book with crayons that daddy bought for him. Some times he will miss while colouring the book and will colour the floor tiles instead.

When taking bath, he really likes to play with the water running out from the tab. He'll cry if not given enough time to play with the water before rinsing him and taking him out of the bathroom. He can scream real loud now when showing his temper.. daddy said he's like mummy.. hmmm..

Yesterday & the day before yesterday, we went to Abg Man's new house in Alam Sutera, Kinrara. A semi D house with luxurious fittings, with 5 rooms including 1 small room at the back and 6 bathrooms, can u believe it?? It will be tough to maintain a house this big without a maid. The house actual price is about RM729K if I am not mistaken.

Things were transferred by a mover (he paid RM1,500 for them) on 26 Dec 2009 and we had a potluck cum doa selamat yesterday. We bought a caramel cheesecake and rojak. Well.. looking at his house making me want to buy/change certain things in my house. For a start I want to buy a bigger fridge so that I can put my cheesecakes & all my bakery stuff inside. I also wanted a 40 inch LCD tv to be put downstairs at the living area, curtains for the 2nd, 3rd room upstairs and the room downstairs. Built in cabinet for the 2nd & 3rd room and to move the small wardrobe for bibik to store her things to the room downstairs. I also want to move the single bed downstairs and buy a new bed, maybe 2 single beds for the 2nd room. TV cabinet for the new 32 inch LCD tv, book shelf for Faris's book and a wardrobe for Faris's cloth. Had to buy a long mirror for guest to use. And I sooo like Abg Man's new dining table coz it has a longgg table and 10 chairs! It cost him RM3,600 and it's the display set.. hmm..
Photo above is of Faris at the stairs at daddy's house in Tmn Jasmin, Kajang. The tenant had moved out in November and daddy want to do some renovations before the new tenant coming in. We had a few people asking to rent the house, even before we put up the FOR RENT signboard! They cleverly ask the next door neighbour for hubby's number. The new tenant is a single mother operating a restaurant in Puchong.

Faris - 1 year & 6 months

By now, Faris is able to confidently run around the house although he will still trip once in a while. He can climb the dining chairs with ease, but will some times miscalculate his steps on the chair and will tergolek jatuh atas lantai! ..3x so far and hoping that it will never happen again.. hmmm.. He have 3 sets of shoes now, 1 the Adidas sneaker, 1 Asadi plastic slipper army colors that look like Croc and another plastic slipper that he use at Mama's. He weigh about 11 1/2 kg now and had lots of teeth, almost complete. He'll cry everytime mummy brush his teeth during the morning bath.

If mummy doesnt have anything on, she will bring Faris to Putrajaya to play in the kid's swimming pool. Last Saturday mummy bring Bibik to watch over Faris so that mummy and auntie Ita can play squash. In the pool he will walk around and pat the water. Oh Faris had a bibik from Nov 14, 2009, previously Abang Li's maid for 5 years. So now Faris will only go to Mama's (her babysitter) once a week on Wednesday so that he will meet other people and to avoid him from talking Indonesian :) .. and also Mama's kids are missing Faris and keep asking about him. They even end up switching on the PC just to see Faris's photos in there because they missed him.. and I've been told by Florence (ofismate who also sent her kids to Mama) that the PC's screensaver is Faris's photo.. hmmm...

He can now say a few word clearly like cat, dog, duck, atok, nenek, bibik, mummy and daddy when his mood serves him.. while words like "flower" will only be "awer".. He likes to eat roti canai and Oreo biscuits now.

It's heart wrenching to see him cry every morning I am going to work without him.. I guess he has gotten so used to follow me in the car going to Mama's place. This morning he held me real tight when Bibik want to take him.. I feel like crying, but life has to go on.

I only get to watch the TV once a week, on Sunday nite (CSI supreme sunday) and that also because I put in extra effort to see it. I love all the CSIs and that's the only show I really want to see.

We still sleep with the mattress on the floor and Faris's futton is beside us. He need his own space while sleeping because he moves a lot and once he kick mummy's face while sleeping on our mattress.

Faris - 11 month

By now Faris have 4 teeth, 2 bottom teeth that started coming out when he's 10 months old and the upper two when he's almost 11. He sometimes bite Mummy's finger when Mummy's driving, normally slowly and sometimes he will forgot and will bite hard and Mummy will scream! Mummy tried to brush his teeth but he dont really like it and will close his mouth real tight when Mummy tried to brush the teeth.

He likes to play with the ball, 1 small fabric ball with a bell inside it and a big rubber ball. He can pass the ball back and forth to Mummy or Daddy and will laugh gleefully when you pass the ball to him. He also loves to pat the water while bathing, making noisy sound and the water will end up splaterring on his face and if he keep doing it for quite some time, his eyes will be red.

He's now learning to balance himself, trying to let go once in a while while standing. He had climbed the stairs when he was 9 months old and now can climb like a pro, in a short time he can reach the top of the stairs. We will only let Faris climb when we can monitor him, I think it is good for his motor skill.

He's eating porridge with fish, butterscotch bread, choc raisin bread, farley rusk biscuit (hard one) etc. He now refused eating nestum with milk that he used to eat since he was 5 months old. He would want everything that Mummy and Daddy eats and if the food is ok with him, we will let him at least taste it, like Coke, jambu with asam etcc..

We are now planning to have some makan2 for Faris's first birthday cum housewarming some time in June.

Faris admitted to SJMC

It has been a stressed week for me. Not only there's lot of new assignments at the office, Faris was admitted when we brought him to see Doc Ali at Sime Darby Medical Centre Subang Jaya, previously known as SJMC.

He started having flu on Sat when we went balik kg to Muar on 14 Mac, then came the occasional cough, and on Mon 16 Mac when I fetched him from the babysitter he was having difficulty breathing and I straight away brought him to Policlinic Medi Nur in Puchong. That nite he had difficulty sleeping and by morning the wheezing sound had become so bad that we decided to take him to Doc Ali in SJMC. After going to 1 round of nebuliser he's no better than before so the doc said he got to be admitted.

Checked with PMCare on Faris entitlement of the room and was informed that his is RM150 per day which means a double room in SJMC. We waited for almost 1 hour from the time we went to the admission counter to being able to go into the room. We were allocated with Room 288, Bed 1 and we were later told that being a double room only the mother can stay overnite which makes hubby very mad. It proves very difficult surviving in the double room with the kid on the next bed keep screaming away and with no one to take care of Faris when I want to do something else like doing business in the bathroom. The moment the kid screamed and wake up the light sleeper Faris, I straight away requested for a transfer to a single room. That nite, at one point I had to strapped Faris to the stroller while I went to the bathroom and another time when I just can hold it any longer, I put Faris on the floor beside the bed.

We got our wish the next day by 12 noon and was transferred to Room 248, 3 rooms away from 288. Doesnt care that costs RM230 per nite as long as I have peace, away from a screaming 1 year old. We stayed there for another 2 nites and when Friday came, I told the Doc that we want to discharge. He checked Faris and was not very happy with his condition, still got phlegms he said but will supply us with the necessary medication. At 11am a pharmasict came and explained how to use the ventolin inhaler together with the face chamber as Faris still not able to inhale the ventolin on his own. Another medication is the cough + flu syrup like the one given before, called hydroxyzine, a cream for the rashes on his face and packs of Singular to be mixed in his food at nite.

At 1 pm we are ready to be discharged and went down to settle the bill. The total comes to RM2400 something and we were told if there's any that we have to pay, they will inform us during our follow up appointment.

Finally, after 4 days of not going home., I am home at last.. Home Sweet Home..

Finally.. the Garden Project Took Off!!

After 3 failed attempt in obtaining a quotation from 3 different parties that hubby call to come to our house, we end up engaging the nursery near our area to do the garden (grass + landscaping). We stopped at the nursery on Sat last week around noon, and kak wati from the nursery came to our house arond 5.30pm to discuss the concept. The next day, she came to give the quotation and hubby agreed with her price (RM3 per sq ft to do EVERYTHING, considering our land now is in a forest-like state :P). That afternoon her worker came to spray the land and everything on it with Roundup.

2 days after that they cleared the land, all the lalang and semak samun is gone.. and the land looked totally cleared that the neighbour make a remark.. yeahhh right considering they are the one complaining about the semak samun to the Majlis Bandaran Sepang (we received a notice from them to clear our land the week before and I really dont think the Majlis people are soo rajin to come and round every house, UNLESS they receive a complain... such a useless neighbour).

On Friday, they delivered the grass (hubby choose pearl grass) and yesterday they brought the plants (bonsai, different types of heliconias, iris and other trees or plant that name I do not know) to be planted on the garden.. together with heaps of earth, sand, pebbles, black soil, and the slates. They planted some of the plants on Sat and arranged the slates at the area near the porch. We cant park our car inside now as it is full of everything that I desribed above. The porch are really messy now and even our sandal is full of earth stuck to it that make the porch even dirtier.

Today, they have added the earth to level the land and covered with sand the places to be planted with grass and for the plants, they added the top soil. By afternoon, they've started laying the grass on the sand with hubby monitoring and instructing them. They've put the slates into place too and it did looked nice on the grass.

They will continue the work on Tuesday since tomorrow is a public holiday. Cant wait to see the completed project. It will definitely look nice. At least compared to the forest-state like before :P

Not So Good Week

I was on medical leave last Thursday and Friday, 5 & 6th March.. not yet fully recovered from the coughing and flu that I had from 23 Feb (back from Cameron, I think I got it from Aiz), I was down with diarrea, a bad one that make me vomit, once on Thursday morning and 2nd time in the car, on the way back from sending Faris to the doctor at SJMC. Luckily I have sparred a plastic bag in the car, from the last time I got a severe headache that also made me wants to vomit, but luckily not. Oh, I met M.Nasir, wife Marlia and daughter at SJMC to see Faris's doc too. Their turn is right after ours.. and I must mention that M.Nasir is still a handsome man at 51 yrs old :)

In that condition, I still try to make the cheesecake(s) that I've promised my boss I'd make. I rest for awhile after coming back from SJMC and stated making it at 6pm.. but my condition is so bad that I have to lie down after standing up for a minute or so and making the 1st cake is a real torture.. and that's when I gave up and call my boss to say that I will not be able to make it. Luckily after that he sms'ed me saying his wife managed to find alternative cakes or otherwise I still have to do it for him.

This evening we went to my boss son's wedding at KGPA.. my appetite is not fully recovered yet.. so eating is not a fun affair.. hmm..

Faris 8 months 1 week

Faris can now crawl although not that fast yet but fast enough to reach the bathroom door when I am going in just for a while. He can even stand on his own in this crib by holding to the side of the crib that can be dropped down. He can stand on his knee holding his milk basket.

One thing, he really dont like to be left alone. Yesterday when we reached home I left him with his toys and he happily plays with them so I thot I can leave him to take a short bath. Not even finished with the bath he's already crying outside the bathroom door! Hmmm... I think it's a result of him being entertained by people all the time at the bbsitter's house. Faris bbsitter have 6 kids and they even take turns to play with Faris after school. So he really never left alone and he expect the same thing at home.
Nowadays he slept with us on the bed so that it's easier to breastfeed him. We can only put him in his cot once he's fast asleep. He made such a fuss before sleeping on Mon & Tue, keep crying before he settles down and slept after midnite!
I bought books last Friday 13 Feb at MPH Subang Parade, 3 books in a box by Cecelia Ahern and 4 books in a box by Judy Blume. Judy Blume books is actually for those in primary school I think, but I dont care, I've been searching for the books for a long time. I remembered that I really enjoyed reading the book when I was in SMS Muar. It was so funny. So now I am reading the one titled Tales of A Fourth Grade Nothing. Never mind the books being for small kids, I can just passed them to Faris when he's older. Before this I read P.S. I Love You also by Cecelia Ahern, and its not too bad although Sophie Kinsella is anytime better.

All about the Pregnancy that I can Remember

The first 3 months

I remember the constant headache.. sometime it makes me cry while driving back home from the office. I remember that all of a sudden I cannot eat fish, my favourite before I was pregnant.. my normal meal during lunchtime at the cafetaria would be white rice, ayam goreng, sambal belacan & kuah lemak.. I remember this one time driving back from Muar to KL, I vomitted in the car a few times and later throughout the nite.. semua keluar.. pahitnya... flat giler.. the next day terus jumpa gynae, Dr Raja Juhaidah at Columbia Asia Medical Centre altho before that we thot the visit to the gynae could wait. I remember that my big boss guessed I was pregnant because he saw me sleeping once during lunchtime (never did that before!). I remember I can sleep as early as 9pm at nite (normal sleeping time would be 12 midnite). I remember being forbidden from watching my favourite CSI series as it contained gory scenes. I remember not having the mood at all to wear make up, even lipstick.. when you're having constant headache, being pretty is the last thing on your mind.

After the 3 months

I remember the swollen feet.. I had to put a box under the working table to konon2nya lessen the swell.. doesnt realy work if you asked me. Come to think about it, the first time it got swollen was on the flight back from Italy to KL. At that time I am not even sure that I am pregnant but the period has been long overdue. Poor hubby have to help massage the feet once in a while. I remember having to eat at all times! I have to make sure that I have food in the car on the way driving to work. I have to have breakfast without fail every morning. I remember having constant back pains.. then not being able to clip the nails on the feet. I remember the first time I felt sure that Faris was kicking inside my tummy on 22 Feb 2008 at Palm Garden Hotel, Putrajaya. Maybe he did kick before that, but as it was my first pregnancy, I am not sure how it feels like. I remember not having the stamina to window shopped like the last time.. my feet got tired easily and have to keep resting every hour or so.

I will write again if I remember other things ;)

Faris fall off the bed

Tensionnya dengan diri sendiri for making Faris fall from the bed, a height of about 3 feet.. Faris tgh tido and I thot nak tinggalkan dia sekejap je before picking him up & keluar ke Subang Parade. Berderaunya darah bila dengar bunyi mcm helmet jatuh atas lantai when I was at the family area, terus lari angkat Faris from the tiled floor.. biru sikit muka dia masa tu, terkejut gaknya, tapi alhamdulillah takde swollen mana2 part of the head, cuma ada kesan merah je kat tepi kepala. I was soooo careless.. if anything happened to him, I wouldnt be able to forgive myself.

Brought him to the doc at Poli Medi Nur and was told that he would be fine if he did not vomit. So far he did not. Ask the doc to write a referral letter just in case.

Went to Subang Parade, we bought a sofa set (3 + 2) for RM2388, promo price at Cellini. Paid with my Citibank credit card and got extra 5% discount. Just a normal sofa with mocha colour. Then I thot we need a coffee table as well.. and we have 4 weeks to decide whether to buy it at RM688, purchase with purchase promo. Hmm so much promo, like too good to be true.
